Caramel mother-of-pearl and green jade create a truly delicate and "delicious" combination. This choker evokes the feeling of honey and meadows... a golden August on the slopes of the Dnipro during the times of Kyivan Rus'. A time when the sun's gold was fully absorbed by the rich meadows of the Dnipro, Desna, Irpin, Ostri... when grasses evaporated aromatic oils, and hollow trees were full of honey.

Mother-of-pearl is a natural material that forms inside mollusks and is known for its soft glow and iridescent texture. Due to its natural properties, it has long been used to create amulets, jewelry, and elements of attire. In many cultures, mother-of-pearl was considered a symbol of harmony, tranquility, and protection. In Ukrainian tradition, there was a similar material called "balamut," which was petrified mother-of-pearl. It was used in folk jewelry and held both decorative and protective significance.
Jade, is a mineral that, despite its relative softness (5.5-6.5 on the Mohs scale), is exceptionally tough and durable. This is likely why it is one of the oldest minerals used for creating jewelry and ritualistic objects. It was highly valued in various cultures worldwide, particularly in China, where it was considered the "stone of emperors" and symbolized wisdom, harmony, and strength of spirit. The main deposits of jade are found in Asia and the Caucasus, from where it could have reached Kyivan Rus' through trade routes. Many peoples used jade to create amulets, believing it brought its owner longevity and peace.
