My name is Polina Shtern. The SHTERNO brand was founded in July 2022, though I have been creating jewelry since 2009. In 2018, I launched my first fantasy-inspired jewelry brand.

Shterno represents a star that reveals a powerful energy of radiance, beginning from its center—the Flower of Life. This radiance fills the soul and body, finding its reflection in one’s dreams and actions. I want every piece of jewelry to serve as a reminder: the power of light lives within us, and it must be nurtured.

The name was born from my roots; in the Hutsul region, "shterno" refers to a star-shaped element used in traditional woodcarving, embroidery, and pysanka (Easter egg) painting. I began creating these pieces in a mountain village in the Hutsulshchyna region, uncovering the profound depth of Ukrainian jewelry history.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy behind my work is simple: these are magical objects that provide their wearer with a source of radiance. The jewelry you wear can act as a silent language, allowing you to recognize those who belong to "your tribe." By wearing certain pieces, you make a statement: "I belong to this lineage; these are my roots."

Craftsmanship & Ordering

All pieces are hand-assembled using high-quality components and beads. I collaborate with traditional Ukrainian metalworkers ("mosyazhnyky") and jewelers ("zolotari") for our pendants and details.

  • In-Stock Necklaces: Shipped within 1–3 days.

  • "Made to Order" items: Created within 3–4 weeks using exclusive components. Please note that because of the artisanal nature of the work, an exact copy of every piece is impossible.

  • Custom Orders: I accept individual commissions with a lead time of 1 to 6 months.
