The romantic "Doves in the Clouds" necklace is a delicate blend of traditional dukach pendants with doves, minimalist hearts, exquisite Venetian glass beads, and high-quality natural stones in pink and lilac hues. This necklace introduces the "Pearl Clouds" collection, where traditional pendants are framed with modern materials, paying homage to the beauty of nature and the artistic achievements of Ukrainian artisans.
The "Pearl Clouds" collection is inspired by the natural beauty of sunsets and the soft pink-purple palette of natural aquamarine, rose quartz, and lavender amethyst beads.

Lavender amethyst consists of select light, translucent beads of amethyst, a mineral that naturally boasts a wide palette of purple hues. Amethyst is the most valuable variety of quartz (SiO2). Its characteristic violet color comes from iron impurities and natural radiation exposure over millions of years. This is a transparent or translucent stone with a vitreous luster and high hardness (7 on the Mohs scale), making it scratch-resistant.
Aquamarine is a variety of beryl, known for its delicate blue or greenish-blue color, reminiscent of seawater. Its shades can range from almost transparent to deep blue, depending on the iron impurities in its composition. This stone features a vitreous luster and high hardness (7.5-8 on the Mohs scale), making it durable and suitable for daily wear. Aquamarine has long been associated with the sea, purity, and tranquility, and sailors considered it an amulet protecting against storms and bringing good fortune on voyages.
Pink Madagascar quartz is a high-quality rose quartz mined on the island of Madagascar. Its wide palette of pink shades is provided by microscopic inclusions of titanium, iron, or manganese, and its translucent structure is responsible for a soft glow effect. It's important to know that this mineral is sensitive to sunlight—prolonged exposure to UV light can cause it to lose its intensity and approach white quartz. Therefore, it's recommended to store and wear the jewelry avoiding prolonged direct sunlight.
This dukach with doves and a heart is handcrafted from brass by a Ukrainian master jeweler, who based the design on traditional Ukrainian pendants. Historically, the dukach served as a protective amulet and a sign of prosperity, as precious coins or religious icons were used for these pendants. Here, the doves have a more contemporary look with hearts, yet a connection to the ancient "bows" of dukaches and traditional symbolism can be traced, where doves were a symbol of faithfulness and sincere feelings.
"Venetian" glass beads with floral details create an aesthetic accent and add vintage charm. These beads are handmade; once, they were produced in Venice under strict secrecy and were considered extremely valuable due to gold inclusions and complex creation techniques. They appeared in the Carpathians through international trade routes and became an important decorative element of Hutsul jewelry. To this day, Venetian beads combine art, history, and luxury in every detail.
