Mother-of-pearl is a natural material that forms inside mollusks and is known for its soft glow and iridescent texture. Due to its natural properties, it has long been used to create amulets, jewelry, and clothing elements. In many cultures, mother-of-pearl was considered a symbol of harmony, peace, and protection.
Coral is an organic material that has been used in jewelry making for centuries. The rich red hue of coral symbolizes vital force, passion, and protection. In traditional Ukrainian culture, coral necklaces were a status symbol and an amulet for the wearer.
The bird pendant, created by a master coppersmith (mosyazhnyk) from Kosiv, is meticulously detailed. Bird motifs are always relevant; here, they acquire an ethnic shade, recalling the traditional larks (zhaivoronky) baked for Hayivky or Sreteniye—the time when people celebrate the arrival of spring.
