This piece is part of a paired jewelry set from the Podillia Collection. In this design, Jasper symbolizes the rich and diverse landscape of the Podillia region—its ancient caves, deep canyons, and natural wonders like the Tovtry (limestone ridges). Garnet introduces a deep red note, mirroring the unique clay and stone hues of the Dniester Canyon. The cubic faceted Leopard Jasper beads feature striking natural patterns that resemble both wild leopard spots and the weathered textures of ancient rock formations.
The Wheel pendant embodies the eternal movement of the sun. Historically, it is believed that Slavic traditions associated the moon with feminine energy and the sun with masculine power. While women traditionally wore Lunnitsa (crescent) amulets, solar symbols like the wheel were quintessential for men.
The lands of Podillia carry a profound history: once shaped by the prehistoric Tethys Ocean, they later became a cradle for various cultures, including the early Slavs. The way our ancestors merged and evolved while maintaining their spiritual connections inspires our work. Materials
Landscape & Leopard Jasper: An opaque variety of chalcedony. Its patterns are created by iron and manganese oxide inclusions. With a hardness of 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, it is a durable stone perfect for everyday wear.
Garnet: A silicate mineral known for its rich burgundy-red color. Highly valued since antiquity, it graced the jewelry of Egyptian Pharaohs and the treasures of Kyivan Rus' princes, symbolizing courage and vitality.
Brass Wheel Pendant: Handcrafted from brass, representing solar energy and the masculine archetype.
